What is LASIK surgery?
LASIK (laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis), commonly referred to as laser eye surgery or laser vision correction, is a type of refractive surgery for the correction of myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness) and astigmatism.
What is LASIK surgery done for?
A special cutting laser is used to precisely change the shape of the dome-shaped clear tissue at the front of your eye (the cornea) to improve the way it focuses light, and therefore your vision, reducing or removing your need for glasses or contact lenses.
